Emerging technologies invite new and complex issues of privacy and surveillance. ‘Privacy and surveillance in an information age’ addresses these modern issues by examining the laws protecting the privacy of personal activities and communications in Australia. You will investigate how data protection and anti-surveillance laws guard against new and harmful applications of Big Data Analytics, including discrimination, manipulation and lack of due process.
